Rutland Sport Leadership Academy
The Rutland Sport Leadership Academy aims to encourage young people in Rutland to actively volunteer within our schools and the local community. We support our young leaders by providing them with the appropriate training and opportunities to develop their leadership skills and experiences.
As individuals within the Academy work with other leaders from across Rutland, there is also an opportunity for our leaders to make new friends, and to learn from and share ideas with one another.
The Leadership Academy is currently open to Primary (Yr 5/6), Secondary (Yr 7/8) and Post 16 schools in the Rutland area.
The Leadership Pathway
The Leadership Academy Pyramid.
This pyramid illustrates the pathway that ambassadors can take to become part of the LRS ELITE Sports Leadership Academy; an Academy that aims to identify and bring together the most talented and committed young leaders across the county to develop, enhance and refine their skills by working alongside other young people and sports professionals.
Selected young leaders are able to develop through accessing support and training related to coaching, officiating and event volunteering. They will also be the workforce for the School Games Championships.
Applications for the LRS ELITE Sports Leadership Academy for 2018/19 will be open early next year.

Multiskills Festival 2018
The Leadership Academy of 2017/18 worked together to organise and deliver the KS1 Multiskills festival (pictured below). This was led by our Bronze Ambassadors, who delivered the activities in each of the stations in small groups.
They were supported by our Gold Ambassador from Harington School.
