What is Active Rutland's Local Sport Alliance?
What is it about?
Rutland Local Sport Alliance (LSA) commonly known as Active Rutland acts as a key group in enabling key partners in sport, active recreation, health and physical activity in Rutland to work collectively to increase the opportunities for all activities in Rutland. The group includes representatives from local sports clubs, sports facility providers, NHS, local businesses, health and wellbeing representatives and Leicestershire and Rutland Sport. The group is fully supported by Rutland County Council however not specifically run by the county council. It is a focus group to develop community and school sport and physical activity provision based upon local providers of sport.
Who is it for?
For you, your club, business or group, Active Rutland acts as a forum to suggest potential activity initiatives, link to grass roots initiatives and directly apply via our funding proposal procedure to gain grants from Rutland County Council or Leicestershire and Rutland Sport to support you as a partner. Any of the representatives of Active Rutland can bring your ideas, suggestions and views to the meetings for support and advice.
What can you benefit?
The Active Rutland Network is highly beneficial for you as it allows you to network with local partners, discover what is on offer for the public and how you could support initiatives. It will act as an opportunity to source advice, direction, links and potentially funding to increase specific demands and needs for Rutland. You will be able to find out where and when local sporting events are taking place and directly influence where sport and active recreation funding is spent.
